Ya good point.
I know a couple guys up there and they are optimistic and saying there is some increased activity.
We can hope it takes off again.johndeere4020 and TripleSix Thank this. -
Drill pipe, frac sand on flats...and rig moves. Lots of rig moves. Frost laws...
30 days we should have a better idea if this is just a parade. But BEFORE the frost laws go in effect, there should be money to get everything in place. Right?johndeere4020 and MJ1657 Thank this. -
Always.Oxbow, Heavy Hammer, johndeere4020 and 1 other person Thank this.

The big stuff has to be shipped in...otherwise its a no go. Two kinds of drivers pull the big loads. Half of them are wanting to return to the oil fields. Warmer than expected winter...johndeere4020 and MJ1657 Thank this.

It makes tons of sense!
That statement right there is something a lot of people need to learn, understand, and remind themselves of frequently! It is one of my favorites, because it's truth.
It's not possible to know what you don't know, and the smart seek the wise to become one of them.DarkhorseEnterprises, HighCountry, TripleSix and 1 other person Thank this. -
It's amazing how many different industries the oil boom touched.
A lot more lumber and grain went on trucks vs rail for awhile until the railroads got the capacity built back up.
Use to hear the same story over and over.
"Can't get no rail cars".
For awhile it actually paid to haul wood.TripleSix, johndeere4020, noluck and 1 other person Thank this. -
Hey @noluck good question to throw out there. I do same as you only 8axle, and yes It's a pain in the...
I toss that idea around at least couple times a year even with a couple direct contacts and fill slack time with the load boards.
Usually the wife picks up on it and tells me to, "take a breath and step back from the ledge".

@TripleSix had some goods words to listen to there.
I been working central/W Texas, equipment/cranes/Rigs are moving hot and heavy.
I even got some REALLY stupid money on a Rig section last week, made my month. Load went south on me then came back at double rate.
Crude price coming up nice and slow so I think it should last a bit.
Always good to keep an open mind for options, But "Greener pastures" are made not found.
Hang in there I think it's just around the corner. JMHOnoluck, TripleSix, not4hire and 1 other person Thank this. -
Glad to hear it ain't just me who has these thoughts. I saw some really big rig pieces moving in Mansfield, LA today. Musta been a half a dozen of em. Plus the Donald is pushing through the pipelines. All good signs!!
