Hi low splitter problem

My truck has been doing this somewhat when it's cold..I'll get a grind sound going into high range.
Once the trans is warmed up, it goes away. Weird!

 

Would this also cause break clutch to go?

 

The clutch break is actually external on the front of the transmission, unrelated to the range shift
