I'm RTC 1, 53 yo male. The company where I worked for 21 yrs closed 7 branches across the US and I am unemployed for the first time in my life. In an attempt to do something I've always thought I would like I went to CDL school, graduated with a 93 GPA and got my CDL on the first attempt. Now I can't seem to catch a break getting hired. I have 1 felony from 1975 when I was a stupid teenager, and 1 D.U.I. from approx. 1985. My work history is above reproach, and I have "safely" worked with hazardous chemicals and gases my entire adult life. I'm not understanding why it's been so hard to get my foot in the door, anywhere. It's been 5 months since I was licensed. One company told me since it had been over 30 days I would have to have 6 months experience. Anyway, I would appreciate any input/advice I can get. Thanks.
