The headlights on during the day is a policy in some companies. Some new vehicles also turn them on automatically during the day. They say it can help prevent accidents.

I believe it. Its law here in Canada that any vehicle after like 1991 has to have daytime running lights. Makes vehicles way more visible. Especially in rainy conditions.PE_T Thanks this.

Except that the dash lights are on too and people think the taillights are on when they are not.
I think the OP is talking about high beams.
DRL doesn't mean headlights only can be used to satisfy the law, just some kind of DRL.Dave1837 Thanks this.
