One more point about state controlled drug databases. They ARE accessible without your consent. There is a small sign next to the prescription pick up window here at the Hampton Virginia VA hospital advising the Virginia database may be accessed to check all non VA prescriptions. Look at this with a bit of common sense. What would be the point of a database if the pharmacist needed your consent. While it is true a pharmacist could refuse to fill the prescription otherwise what would be the point of taking a prescription to a pharmacy if you plan to not give consent? These databases exist to help law enforcement to fight the selling of controlled substances on the streets.

Blood pressure needs to be 140/90 for a 1 year card. At DOT physical they LOVE to take blood pressure as soon as the nurse enters the room for vitals. You need to lay down horizontal for10 minutes, then put your arm into the air and have blood pressure taken. The guy that developed Viagra has a new formula for a nutritional supplement to lower blood pressure. keepyourcdl.com shows the product and explains it. As you get older, the capillaries that exchange oxygen for waste products get blocked, making your heart work harder and pressure to increase. This helps the blood veins open and helps. Taking a Viagra pill the day before a physical can help lower blood pressure as well.

5 mg is probably way too low. I'd get a second opinion and tell the doctor you're on a deadline to get it right before school starts. I take 360 mg Diovan every morning and it keeps me just below or right on the maximum BP allowed to pass. That's a lot, but it works. My BP is 138/88.

My friend takes a 6 mg. Cialis every morning which the doctor prescribed. The name Viagra uses is Revatio which is prescribed for heart health and blood pressure.

The problem with this is, then you're having 12 people that aren't smart enough to get out of jury duty deciding your fate. That to me sounds pretty scary.

Blood pressure meds are trial and error till you find what works for your body.
I have been driving ten years wih high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and high cholestorol.
All you have to do at DOT physical is list your conditions and medications and doctors name.
Your glucose and blood pressure should be within range at the test.
Buy a bp monitor and record your numbers so that you know the meds are lowering numbers.

Blood pressure meds really should not be trial and error for most people because most people have high blood pressure because of life style. Being totally honest with your physician helps eliminate these kind of errors. I dropped my BP by a lot just from life style changes.

Same here! I do have a Dr's note saying I can drive or do any work with no restrictions due to it. But it would not even get that far with companies.
