Stop the sodas and caffeine.
Lose weight the right way, don't just stick to veggies and salads. Add some protein to it, turkey or chicken.
If you are eating salads, no cream dressings and check the dressing for sodium content.
You will be on meds with those numbers. You need to get it under 140 ... way under.
High blood pressure

A sea in the Himalayas?. Is that your way of saying don't eat salt at all?.

I eat canned veggies everyday, but I only buy the low sodium or no added salt variety. They taste like ###, but needs must. -
Any preservative is SALT. They hide the names to fool you. If it's canned, it has some form of sodium which is salt.

I'm making the salads myself. Produce is usually bought at publix Walmart or Trader Joe's. Only canned veggie I eat is salt and it's always low sodium and I rinse it in a colander firstLast edited: Jul 29, 2017

That's fine. If my blood pressure is in proper standing and I have to do it again a year later it should either be better naturally by then or I'd still be on medication that will keep me in proper standings.NavigatorWife and pattyj Thank this.

I just read that if you're over 140/90 on your dot physical the physician will give me a temporary three month card to get myself on medication to bring it down to a proper level? Can anyone confirm this?
-
The FMCSA has changed the new physical forms so this may not be accurate anymore. At one point this information was on the form. However as far as I know this is true. I can't confirm the days but they could issue a short duration card at one time.
-
Most school Drs will probably give you a pass with that and a 2 year card. They want you in the school. Your first company on the other hand wasn't too be sure you won't stroke out going down the road.
A 3 month card your bp would be 120/110 or something like that. -
No matter what it would be better to get it down before you go to school, even if it is meds. Being over 140/90 will make a hassle of your life. Each time you have to have a new medical card, a copy has to be sent to your home state DMV CDL Unit before the card expires. Stay away from caffeine, and a lot of sugar, and cola's, along with the junk food, while in school before the physical. If it is high, they may give you another chance to take BP if you mention it is your nerves or white coats that cause it to be up, but.... it better go down.

Yeah I'm gonna go to this herbal store tomorrow, some of the guys at my work recommended this herbal medicine and say it's been working for them. If it works I won't have to say I'm
On medicine during my physical hahahaNavigatorWife Thanks this.
