No, but you want to get that under control. Known as the silent killer, no real symptoms, but slowly and surely plugging up your pipes. Some is caused by diet, but most is hereditary, being produced over abundantly by the liver. You young guys listen up, the sooner you get this checked the better, but no later than age 35.

I felt fine, but started getting checked at 40, mine was high also, including the bad LDL. I've had it under control now for 20 years and get checked yearly. I still get my two year med card with no problem.

Eventually, after you have a heart attack. Cut out the processed and fried foods now.

if you see a primary care doctor, he or she, should get you onto a some meds. you DO NOT have to mention those meds on your DOT physical.

as mentioned, cut back the deep fried foods, and other high saturated fatty foods. start reading those labels on the packages.

Reduce your bread, and pasta consumption, increase protein, go easy on sugary drinks.

We all have different DNA makeups. Most hereditary. My cholesterol is over 300. Yet, my blood pressure is 122 over 70. I take Gemfibrozil to help, but it doesn't seem to have much affect. Never had a problem with my DOT because of that. Now blood pressure would be a different story.
