No, but you want to get that under control. Known as the silent killer, no real symptoms, but slowly and surely plugging up your pipes. Some is caused by diet, but most is hereditary, being produced over abundantly by the liver. You young guys listen up, the sooner you get this checked the better, but no later than age 35.

Eventually, after you have a heart attack. Cut out the processed and fried foods now.

Reduce your bread, and pasta consumption, increase protein, go easy on sugary drinks.

We all have different DNA makeups. Most hereditary. My cholesterol is over 300. Yet, my blood pressure is 122 over 70. I take Gemfibrozil to help, but it doesn't seem to have much affect. Never had a problem with my DOT because of that. Now blood pressure would be a different story.

I don't remember if I read this somewhere... stress also increases cholesterol...
