Ok here's an update. Put on new pdi manifold and turbo, donaldson 100463. Checked for any blockage in exhaust (magnet, & drifted) Pulled eveything from filters to intake manifold. Very clean now, with no leaks. Checked @30 psi for 1 min. Lost 2-4 psi.
According to freightliner injector height should be 80.3 mm. Can anyone conferm this? 12.7 ddec III, manufactured aug 1997 6067gk60. Only #'s can find are betreen #6 intake lobe and cam bearing cap ( without further break down). E7DXXP 8.
Why would detroit put your horse power up @2100 rpm's when you will never bring it up that high??or should i on this particular motor?
@1600 rpm's, a good hill wot boost will hit 26-28. 28 psi one time. Checked for leaks repeatedly. Whats strange is vaccum gauge plumbed between air filters T and turbo drops to a 5" pipe and vaccum gauge is there. Hitting 8-10 on vaccum gauge. Pyro temps will hit 10 instantly from 850-900. Cant keep pyro under 850 in tenth gear under 1500rpm. If i pick up to 1500-1600 stays 800-900 except wot.

Ok, i took the valve cover off to adjust injectors to 80.3 mm and notice the injector lobes wasnt a soft lobe. Kind of a sharp tip and drop of at full pitch. Is that the way they suppose to be? Also noticed shavings in the low valleys of the head. Got magnet and got them all out. Will drain pan and check bottom end and everything i can on liners. I know i wont get full picture of liners from underneth but maybe an idea.
Other than sharp crest of injector lobe; top end looked good. Rest of cam, bearing on cam ends, valve springs, and jakes. Couldnt see anywhere that shavings wouldve came from.
Any in put on all or some of hole post would be helpfull.
The head was supposivy replaced about a year ago. Before i got the truck
