you need to go in to the dmv in person and request a 10yr print-out (probably cost $5 or so)
high Speeding ticket might be an obstacle

if youre gonna tell em about it, then the mvr is kind of superfluous. if youre looking to get a leg up by not telling them, thats why youd need to see if its there. and i would assume "valid" simply means you dont have OUTSTANDING tickets.no idea how one goes about seeing their own mvr, though im sure its possible. go to the police station or courthouse or dmv?
warrior81 Thanks this. -
Some municipalities will not report certain events if you play nice with them and take the class.
If that ticket is on your driving record, it is the equivalent of a reckless driving conviction.
If it is on your record you NEED to declare it, if it is not on your record DO NOT DECLARE IT!
You will need 3 years of clean driving record for the (good) insurance companies to accept you.
If you have any other issues combined with that like wrecks or other tickets, they may likely give you a pass due to to many points.
I got one of those whopper tickets 2 weeks before I got my CDL and it killed me for the first year.
I got passed over for so many positions it almost broke me, I was even as far as having passed my driving test and keys in hand getting into the seat when the plug got pulled.
I took a sucky hourly job for a year, then got on towing, I think the tower's were self insured or fell into a looser category coverage wise (sub-standard insurance company).
After towing for a year, no tickets no wrecks (crap wages no benefits).
Then another year of flat-bedding with no tickets or wrecks and that big ticket 3 years behind me last July, I am now finally able to get approval from most carriers.
I am looking at buying my own truck and running the I-5 corridor now.
That big ticket still shows on my record but does not count towards points.
It was really depressing to get my license and not be able to get work as a driver (even the bottom feeders would not take me)(which was probably a blessing)!
It's not what you want to hear but with a whopper ticket I would wait a couple of years and keep your nose clean, that will save you some grief of having to work at a sub-standard company any longer than necessary.
I went through an unconnected school to get my license, the school was aware of my driving history and still took my money.
They did not really care if I could get work or not. So don't spend your own money for a license school and have to wait like I did.
If you're squeaky clean except for that ticket, keep trying you may get on.
If that ticket does not show, speak not of it.
I don't want to discourage you, you may find something that is a good fit, keep trying is what I did.
Keep your record clean & Good luck
DMV will mail you a copy of your driving record for a small fee. -

thank you very much ..i am glad you finally got over that ..thank you for the advice ...really nice of you ...my ticket dates from march or april 2009 ..it is over 4 years now ...but am not sure whether it is gonna affect or not ..since it is a reckless as you said ..eventhough what it was stated on the ticket at that time was:"unlawful speed" and not "reckless" ..it is kinda hard to tell unless i pull that printout MVR tomorrow ..thanks . -
the thing that kills me about the speeding tickets is this........99% of the trucks rookies drive wont go 63 LOL
that would be a valid question if the trucks were wide open. but with them governed.....i fail to see the deal in even asking, other than to have a reason in the back pocket if something happened down the road. -

With nothing besides that on your record you should be able to take your pick of training companies.
Choose wisely.... Actually since that is over 3 years, you might be better off paying for the school instead of owing your soul to the company.
Check with the Un-Employment office about a grant for the school.48Packard Thanks this. -
also it is funny cuz am employed but i cant afford going to a private school to get a cdl ..so what i am thinking is going thru a company if accepted this way i know in advance whether i am gonna be employed or not .thank you Bent wrench -
See If your local City College has a driving class.
Anything you can do to get a leg up will help you in the long run.warrior81 Thanks this.
