@Lepton1 beat me to it... I think your in WY too... If you get blown over there and it is closed to "Light High Profile Vehicles" YOU and your COMPANY can both expect some hefty fines... No matter how heavy you are. WY does not define a "Light" load... If you get blown over you were not heavy, evwn if you weight 80k + pounds.

This May be of some help to you if you are indeed in WY

Currently in Denver and unfortunately heading back West tomorrow across the Wyoming 80. It
sure does get old and I so wish others would appreciate just how dangerous it can be. This road needs common sense drivers and yes I know, they are hard to find on this route. Be Safe Drivers.

The one place I worry about wind is on the Grapevine during Santa Anna where high cool desert winds to the east flow down to the ocean. It's viciously fast between the hills east to west across the highway like rivers of water at upwards of 100+ There is no way to understand the risk other than to pretty much wait until morning when the sun has some time to heat that air again.

I'm currently parked in Greeley, CO, about an hour from Wyoming and the wind is gusting up to 45 mph.

It makes it hard to sleep because the truck is rocking so much you feel like you are rolling.

P.S., as the saying goes, the only dumb question is one not asked.

I don't worry so much about the Grapevine anymore, the truck speed limit is so low now, that it would take a herd of elephants to push a rig over. And I appreciate the post, but CA DOT enforces the heck out of it. I think the downside is max. 35 mph and they will bust your stuff if you go over it. So not so worried anymore about wind speed on that stretch anymore. Just my thoughts on the Grapevine.

If this truck is rocking, I must be in Wyoming.
