You know what happens when the wind stops blowing in Wyoming? The buildings fall over!
I personally think WY is worse than Nebraska, but I may be biased being a Cornhusker myself! Counter steer, slow down, and just be careful. When you park for the night, park INTO the wind as much as possible. Loaded is always better! Helps to have the weight holding you down.

You totally can feel it. I had some sustained winds in South Dakota once and was practically holding my steering wheel at a 45 degree angle to stay on the road. I also slowly watched my mpgs trickle down from 6.5 to 2.5 as I made my way across the state.
It's recommended to either park between trailers if you can in high wind or park facing into it if possible. -
Do you get 'docked' (if that's the right word) for the decrease in MPG? I seem to remember reading that the 'company' keeps track of that and slaps the back of your hand if its not in the right range.

Holy Excrement!! So nice and slow - but you knew it was going!! So would that be a 'preventable' or 'not preventable' accident?
-
Good question!

I do not know about this video, but a driver at a company I worked at was blown off the road in high wind after dispatch berated him for wanting to stop and it was declared preventable and he lost the job.
-
No, eventially you turn around and go the other way. Then the wind pushes you.

well some companies do jack you up...Celadon did when I was there...they actually fired guys for idle times of 30% but yet they would keep you sitting for days in the cold or the heat.......so it really depends on the company

If you notice in the first couple of seconds the cop passes a rig already on it's side in the middle that's some intense stuff there for sure
