LTL whether it's linehaul or city P&D at a busy terminal can get you that. The linehaul most likely starts off on night shift. The smaller terminals where the P&D drivers break and load the freight can get a lot of overtime and make good money.

Certain companies pay overtime after 8, some pay overtime after 45, some pay straight time. Just depends on the carrier.

 

It's not that bad.

The vast majority of drivers that do this for a living -- actually live to see their retirement.

Once you get the hang of it -- you'll find that it's actually pretty easy work, too.

If I can do it -- I think you probably could, as well.

But you're right about one thing -- it's not a job for the faint of heart.

Tanker work is a good gig if you get with the right company. If it blows up, you'll never even know it happened.
