I've put in my resume to Fed Ex, UPS, Con-Way and ABF. No dice. ABF and UPS declined me for one speeding ticket that will be at its 3 year mark on 12/26/11. Con-Way is only hiring dock workers in my area and Fed-Ex I never got a reply back from. I'm not sure what else I can do.
Edit to add: Oh and Con-Way can't even guarantee drivers any hours. It's an on-call basis, not sure if this is how all LTL works, but I can't do part time work. -
Thats how LTL is. It takes a while to get your foot in the door.

I'll pass then. I may not be an old-timer, but I'm not fresh out of school either. I need something quite a bit more guaranteed.

Hello Dj - I'm new to this forum; I found it about a week ago, and man its great to be a member, because of all the info that is here.
So onward with the questions. What would you like to know about Contract work? I'm working for a fortune 500 company in Afghanistan like right now! Yes; sitting here typing this message. And yes, I have first hand knowledge of most/all your questions.bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
There you go man energy transportation is waiting for you I know there was a thread on here not too long ago recruiting drivers for ND housing and paid utilities provided and 80k a year. I wouldn't go to Afghanistan bro Im a civilian not a trained killer and have you ever seen the movie Buried with Ryan Reynolds well he was a truck driver in Afghanistan and look what happened! Point is kidnappin of Americans overthere can and will happen.

Its not so much kidknapping over here its the rockets and mortars that want to crawl in bed with you and keep you nice n warm! -
Are you sure about that?
I hear they vote, they might be able to buy a house too.Hardlyevr, lonewolf4ad, Wargames and 2 others Thank this. -
But that $75K won't be tax free. Even so, $100K is not a lot of money and it's a really cheap price to put on one's life imo. But I know OP doesn't want to hear it..

Its all tax free over here, "IF" you meet the requirements for uncle "spam". And you do get a return too!
