The truth about the coq is vsa maintains the hwy in the winter!!! Privatisation is the truth why we chain up more than we should .quotas of sand, fuel, wages ect are an issue with this vsa company.beleive me i have seen the smasher with no sand ,no plows working when trucks are forced to chain up at the bottem and the top. This is why the movie star in hope wants... They strive for us to crash so they can recover. Vsa laughs at the truckers in the winter. I have seen vsa trucks sitting at the bottem doing nothing many times. Rogers pass is goverment so the hill looks like brown sugar . I have never had an issue at rogers pass. I drive van to calgary twice a week 10yrs

I know I'm just some loggin chic from the states, but in season 5 episode 9, y'all are choking those telephone poles like ####. Yes tow truck drivers and all, but if you wanna do the job right, they shoulda been picking from the top working to the bottom. Your game of pick up sticks turned into pick up idiots.

Really, credit should be given where credit is due and we owe a debt of gratitude to the truck drivers of British Columbia and Alberta because without their moronic behavior there would be no Highway Thru Hell. Tow truck driver Gord Boyd sums up Canadian trucking in one unforgettable and incredibly insightful sentence in this season opener trailer:

Tow truck driver Gord Boyd to typically moronic truck driver (shouting): "ARE YOU A COMPLETE MORON!?" (rhetorical question - we know the answer: industry standard).

It doesn't help that nobody specs a truck properly for these conditions. 4 way lockers should be standard for any trucks running these conditions. Gotta think one of the early episodes they charged like $300 or something for a tow up. If 4 way lockers save a guy a couple bills like that they've paid for themselves.

It also helps when you know how to drive the terrain you're running.

See guys around Ontario get stuck going up hills..hills!!

Lockers dont always work when conditions are bad. If anything it would cause that Ladd1 super trucker to think he can barefoot it up but spins out. Throw some chains on instead It takes 5-15 minutes.
