I’ve been on the ltl side, with FedEx Freight and UPS Freight. The terminal you work out of can make it or break it. Whether you’re in ltl or pulling a tank.

Just another reason I like Highway Transport. I have one dispatcher. And since I’m running the system, I get one or two loads in a seven day work week. Which means I only speak to my dispatcher if I have a problem.

How about the trucks. They seem to be running the same small sleepers Superior does. Do they have all the forward facing cameras and lane departure bs on them.

I have a nephew who worked for highway transport, after orientation they gave him a brand new mack pinnacle with about 100 miles on it. He did system for a couple months with them and then switched to regional, they took him out of that new mack and put him in a 2010 mack with about 700,000 miles on it. He left highway because he did not like the variation in pay, short runs paid more per mile, longer runs paid less per mile, but in the end, it all evens out

That was probably the Pinnacle. The ones Superior is getting are larger than the older Mack's. Unfortunately they seem to be replacing the Pete's for the chosen ones who get them.

Regional drivers currently have the small sleepers. All system drivers have the Mack Anthem. The new trucks have the lane departure system, and outward facing camera. As the Anthems start getting up in mileage, the regional drivers will take them over. And small sleepers will be phased out.

The Pete’s that superior runs always seem to b down. We have a couple drivers here in Pasadena who drive Pete’s, and everytime I see them they are in a loaner truck, seems like their truck is always in the shop. My terminal manager gave me the choice of a Peterbilt or a mack, I chose the mack and so far no regrets, they can keep those Pete’s

I am in a newer Mack without a camera and lane departure. Got 130k on it Small sleeper is fine with me running nothing but 2-3 night out and backs. I might retire once they are ready to move me out of it

I believe Highway pays .52/mile loaded & empty? As long as longer runs are at .52 and shorter runs can go higher.. it should not be a problem.
