I quit Crete for good in wind gusts. This was their second chance on not listening to me. I stayed for one week.
They held me back on picking up a load. Just enough on my 14 hour to not be able to arrive that night. So sat in Grand Island next day. Wind gust warnings of 60mph from 6am to 5pm. Where I was to deliver. 50mph gust warnings till 11pm. And I would have an empty trailer.
They re-powered my load at 2pm. Didn’t tell the driver about the wind gust warnings. I did. And I called in and quit on the spot for good.Speed_Drums and Moon_beam Thank this. -
I have a 31k load pu today, going through the TX panhandle and up northeast to Colorado for I-70 into Denver. Going to watch the wind closely. Last week there were reports of 100+ gusts in the area with the fronts that moved through.
My rule is gusts over 50-60 justify parking it, even when my weight is max. Only been driving 3 years but that's how my trainers taught me. Better safe than sorrySpeed_Drums and Moon_beam Thank this. -
