Whenever we are in traffic, we don't want to stand out. Why? If you stand out in traffic, something is wrong. Rookie drivers stand out. They ride the zipper. The trailer does the rookie wiggle when the look in the mirror. No big deal. Drunks and sleepy drivers speed fluctuates by as much as 30 mph but they cannot maintain 65. We see things out of place quite easily.
I'd wager that the little motorist wasn't running along at the truck speed limit dime dropping every truck that passed him. I wonder what OP was doing to make the motorist do his version of a tornado chaser. Laying on the horn, flashing high beams, or tailgating, or cut someone off? That's the part he didn't get on film. He decided to film and follow to see if he could catch that on film again...whatever it was.

Perhaps, but Wooly Rhino is right. In the end, you have to hit 'em hard and this is the only way to effectively do that.cabwrecker said: ↑Oh? Is that all?
Okay, so in order for OP to get his DAC cleaned up- is take a massive multi-national corporation to a federal court.
I think that train of logic may be skipping a few alternatives -.-Click to expand... -
The appeal process with PSP is a joke. I had a flawless record until an inspection early last year. DOT man wrote me up for something that I took pictures of and proved he was wrong. I appealed. The powers-that-be didn't even look at the photos I submitted during the appeals process. After raising enough cane I got to the bottom of how it works. After my appeal, their process consisted of an extremely scientific and unbiased investigation (end sarcastic mode here). It consisted of them contacting the DOT man that wrote me up and asking him if what he wrote me up for was true. End of story, I lost the appeal. Talk about a kangaroo court. It's a joke.CondoCruiser said: ↑IMO, I don't believe the part about faxing an officer your inspection report and he removed the remark for you. I haven't heard one success story yet in regards to someone getting something removed from their PSP. It takes an act of congress and an appeal process to get something removed from it. That would mean your company still had hard evidence and a reason to report to DAC. With a dispute HireRight would of removed the mark unless the company proved otherwise with hard written evidence. So they do have something.
I would pay $10 online and get a copy of your PSP. Then you aren't relying on someones word.
In respect to your driving habits have you learned anything?Click to expand... -
Here is the problem with HireRight. It's a private company and can do as it pleases, so to speak. Your former place of employment has the right to say UNSATISFACTORY SAFETY RECORD for darn near anything it deems unsafe. Unfortunately, to get anywhere with your case you will need a lawyer and one who is schooled and experienced with commercial driver cases and HireRight in particular. HireRight damages many drivers' careers, some rightfully so, others not so much. In my personal opinion, the DOT should force companies to go by one or two governing authorities and NOT a private enterprise. It reeks of not only the possibility but probability of corruption in multiple ways.IcantStandPigs said: ↑I don't know which category to actually post this under and im just ranting more than asking for help. DAC Report in general is nothing but a complete joke but when something actually goes on it falsely (in my opinion) then I turn to Hire Right to dispute it, it does NO GOOD!. What good does it really do to ask me questions and submit it to the company that put it on their in the 1st place. If Hire Right isn't going to try and help an INNOCENT driver out then it is a waste of time to even offer the dispute option.
I worked for this company before and got a Speeding 15 or more violation (dismissed in court so wasn't on MVR but is on PSP). I wanted to work for them again so applied and they said they would take me back but if I get any more violations in the 1st year of working for them then they will have to let me go so I agreed to it and went back to work for them.
I was on I-5 in Washington and another motorist (car) felt like he needed to mind my business and video tape me for about 10 miles or more. Now this is where it really makes me mad. He called in on me and said I was "speeding" (How in the hell can you say I am speeding when you are in the left lane video taping me in the middle lane and you are slowing down??) Anyways, I got pulled over 7 miles from my destination by some ignorant state patrol. She wrote on an inspection report "speeding" so I had to send it in to the company but she admittedly stated "I don't really know what to do. I had to stop you to be sure you were okay since we got a call in." I was mad already and just wanted to get to the destination and didn't think "speeding" on an inspection report would be a big issue since I wasn't fined anything and she didn't have me on radar at all so I signed the paper and off we went.
I turn it in to the company and I get a call about 4 or 5 days later from the safety manager asking me what happened. I told her and she said "we need to get this taken care of because it sounds like a bunch of bs" She was on my side the WHOLE WAY WITH IT. She said "can you make a written statement so I can try to fight it before it goes on your psp record because we already have alert status so we don't need anymore points going against us" I made the statement and sent it to her.
For all you that follow the PSP, it is updated once a month at the end of every month for the most part so AS SOON AS IT HIT THE PSP REPORT, I go in to get some more log books from the terminal in LA and he says "I need to talk to you but give me a few minutes." I knew exactly what it was. He calls me back in there and says they have to let me go due to safety violations. I didn't really give a care about it at all because it was December 2nd so I went to Vegas and relaxed for the holidays.
After the holidays, I got in touch with Washington State commercial vehicle division and he was dumbfounded as to why it was showing up on the PSP report anyways as he told me, he had no record of it. He told me to fax him the inspection report and he would get it taken care of. 3 days later it was removed from my PSP and it was like nothing ever happened besides I lost my job over NOTHING. I started looking for a job again shortly after New years of 2013 and found out they put "unsatisfactory safety record" on my DAC. I have worked since then at a company and have been accepted by others. The good jobs in my opinion wont talk to me until I have atleast 18 months driving since then and no more safety problems so im pretty much screwed for something that should have never happened in the 1st place.
Bottom Line, If you get screwed badly on your DAC and you didn't do anything, you might as well look for a new career because turning to Hire Right isn't going to get you any where. DAC and PSP are just a way to hurt truckers. If I got a 15 MPH or more speeding ticket in my car and it was dismissed in court, it would be no where to be found but this stupid PSP garbage has everything on it no matter what. No reason to even check the MVR anymore which actually shows what you were CONVICTED of because all employers just go by the PSP. My MVR only has 1 point on it (wrong lane violation). Innocent until proven guilty doesn't matter when it comes to trucking.Click to expand... -
For those saying I shouldn't have signed the inspection report, I know I shouldn't have. It haunts me every day but I did and it was by far the dumbest thing I ever did. The company is just a bunch of trash because they put "unsatisfactory safety record" on my co drivers DAC Report to LMAO and he wasn't driving and was in the sleeper until I said "come look at this guy filming me" then he sat in the passenger seat the remainder until I was stopped. If the officer had me on radar speeding and witnessed me breaking any other law then I would have taken the punishment for it but I should never lose my job and dang sure shouldn't be screwed from getting another decent job with a bad dac report because of some other motorist thinking he is a cop. The pig should've lost her job for making a false inspection report up and then asking me to sign it! Every other time I got pulled over or called in to a weigh station for something, they always ask for my medical card as well AND LOG BOOKS. This pig didn't ask for insurance, medical card, or log books.
