Whenever we are in traffic, we don't want to stand out. Why? If you stand out in traffic, something is wrong. Rookie drivers stand out. They ride the zipper. The trailer does the rookie wiggle when the look in the mirror. No big deal. Drunks and sleepy drivers speed fluctuates by as much as 30 mph but they cannot maintain 65. We see things out of place quite easily.

I'd wager that the little motorist wasn't running along at the truck speed limit dime dropping every truck that passed him. I wonder what OP was doing to make the motorist do his version of a tornado chaser. Laying on the horn, flashing high beams, or tailgating, or cut someone off? That's the part he didn't get on film. He decided to film and follow to see if he could catch that on film again...whatever it was.

Perhaps, but Wooly Rhino is right. In the end, you have to hit 'em hard and this is the only way to effectively do that.

The appeal process with PSP is a joke. I had a flawless record until an inspection early last year. DOT man wrote me up for something that I took pictures of and proved he was wrong. I appealed. The powers-that-be didn't even look at the photos I submitted during the appeals process. After raising enough cane I got to the bottom of how it works. After my appeal, their process consisted of an extremely scientific and unbiased investigation (end sarcastic mode here). It consisted of them contacting the DOT man that wrote me up and asking him if what he wrote me up for was true. End of story, I lost the appeal. Talk about a kangaroo court. It's a joke.

Here is the problem with HireRight. It's a private company and can do as it pleases, so to speak. Your former place of employment has the right to say UNSATISFACTORY SAFETY RECORD for darn near anything it deems unsafe. Unfortunately, to get anywhere with your case you will need a lawyer and one who is schooled and experienced with commercial driver cases and HireRight in particular. HireRight damages many drivers' careers, some rightfully so, others not so much. In my personal opinion, the DOT should force companies to go by one or two governing authorities and NOT a private enterprise. It reeks of not only the possibility but probability of corruption in multiple ways.

For those saying I shouldn't have signed the inspection report, I know I shouldn't have. It haunts me every day but I did and it was by far the dumbest thing I ever did. The company is just a bunch of trash because they put "unsatisfactory safety record" on my co drivers DAC Report to LMAO and he wasn't driving and was in the sleeper until I said "come look at this guy filming me" then he sat in the passenger seat the remainder until I was stopped. If the officer had me on radar speeding and witnessed me breaking any other law then I would have taken the punishment for it but I should never lose my job and dang sure shouldn't be screwed from getting another decent job with a bad dac report because of some other motorist thinking he is a cop. The pig should've lost her job for making a false inspection report up and then asking me to sign it! Every other time I got pulled over or called in to a weigh station for something, they always ask for my medical card as well AND LOG BOOKS. This pig didn't ask for insurance, medical card, or log books.
