Usually drop and hook jobs are easy to fill. 500 miles a day in the tri-state area can be tricky sometimes. Probably find someone decent at 300$ per day.

500$ per day will get you a driver, and you'll be able to keep him. Gotta figure 500 miles each day pays the truck anywheres between 1,200-1,500$ each round. Take 400-500$ out of that and everyone is happy making money.

YA that's a start... In Chicago area on craigslist the same company that is better than the rest of the "daily" job posters offers an "average" of $200 a day with "union" benefits but has been posting for over a year now... An
"average" of $200 a day means some guys make (in my estimate) 150-250 a day gross not NET... And thats with union benefits... To the blind eye when a posting states an "average" salary of $200 a day only a brain surgeon is smart enough to realize that this particular company posts daily and that being a new driver your going to be at the
scrotum of the average so I'm guessing your pay will be the low side "150" gross then after taxes around 120x5=600 for a 5 day work week... So sure lets jump in the truck with bald steer's, 8 different drives, a trailer hauling scrap metal (littering the past 150 miles behind them cause the net is innoperable) Oh I forgot the skid marks for the past
150 miles cause the trailer has a leaking suspension airbag but "night" dispatch (the owner at his house after 12 heineken"s named George) say's continue home for "home shop" to put a band-aid on it "you can limp it in" Sure after you have been advertising for over a year and now all the sudden you'r offering a stagering $1500 "sign on bonus" thats paid $100 per month after your first 6 months I better tighten my suspenders to hold my 42" pants
while I run over to your "office" at the back door of a dry cleaning service in "chicagoland" (Elk Grove Village) that has 4 of your ginny pigs trying to direct each other into the 4 spaces set for the box trucks delivering the clothes for the cleaners so they can be home "weekends" on a wednesday night... And dont over crank the wheel cause the ball bearing on the broke off volvo is already busted... And the famous line on all the posting's is "paper logs"
ABSOLUTELY" its 500 miles round trip.... after you dead head 1 hour to the shipper sit there for 3 hours drive 4.5 hours non stop with the gatorade bottle in your lap cause you have to piss in a bottle cause you cant stop, only to get the reciever to sit for 3 hours and then return to chicago after 4.5 hours of driving sit for another "quick Unload" (2 hours) and DH back to base (1 hour)
Sure call George... Just so he can say "U" Truuuck driverskyviper73 Thanks this. -
Finding good jobs, or good employees is best accomplished by word of mouth.
i.e. ask your friends, business associates etc -
