Sorry, it sounded like you had some driving experience already. FFE isn't hiring students out of FL. It wouldn't take much to change your address online for your banks statement and a credit card for a month. As long as you list your parents address as your address on your applications, you should be alright even without the address on your license. A quick story saying your giving up your apartment or house as you won't need it as a trucker is something they've heard many times and it shouldn't be questioned.

    JP11283 Thanks this.

You will definitely find something. I wouldn't be concerned about that. Just a matter of matching up a company with you that hires out of FL. I can't believe Central won't hire and I know for sure Knight was hiring newbies. They have that Squire program right there in Lakeland.

Check out Craigslist because there are all kinds of ads on there hiring new drivers.

Hang in there you will find something.

    JP11283,

If you haven't even started school yet, use caution with any info you are getting

NOW. Things change week to week in florida.

If you know about what date you'll graduate, it would be helpful to us.

Hiring in florida changes with the outside temperature, so when it's cold down here

this winter, jobs will be scarce !!

You could file for prehire letters, just remember that they are NOT a guarantee of

    employement !!

Here's is some very important information, and don't let anybody know I told you...

Just because a company says NO, does not necessarily mean no !!!!!!

Exceptions can usually be made, for exceptional students !!!!

    Good Luck !!!

    JP11283 and BigJohn54 Thank this.

Have you had any luck JP? I'm calling companies and checking out schooling options in FL now as well. Wish you the best of fortunes.

For florida, change your address at your bank to your parents, wait for a statement. have your parents fill out a notarized letter stating you live with them, they have to go with you with their own 2 proofs (voter id and insurance policy are what I bring). Voila, you live north of I 4.

Crst hires student grads out of your area btw, or did last august

Well, I wasn't able to get the money together for schooling and their aren't any grant programs available here. I filled out an application for Roehl's driver school last week and submitted it. Haven't heard from them so I'm going to give them a call on Monday.
