    Please make sure that that was not a Butler Transportation add that you seen. They are a flat bed company in PA I think.

    In a sense, that's not an entirely bad thing. Kinda off the subject, but having an official gross income that's lower than the real number would make it harder to become overextended on credit (or home loans).

    Ain't universal of course, but there's a tendency for people to live just slightly beyond their means.

    On the whole per diem thing, i will say that just like any anything there is an upside and there is a down side. I really just comes down to personal preference.

    Unfortunately the per diem is not by choice, it is a company standard.
