Great Idea and I allready chated about that.I am very conservative these days in the trucking world..I could indeed go get 2 trailers and run them myself. Here is the problem....''risk'' and ''investment''...I have this terrible gut feeling that this will not last.I have had many many nice ''dedicated'' deals that are long gone now.I am sure you remember the ''hey day'' with the automotive milk runs...We made a killing with those and then the day came when they were long gone...

I am going to stay on this every week and feel it out and then see..So far i have been told a few different stories..I have heard 3 year contract,2 year and 1 year.Needless to say i will ride the horse till the horse breaks his leg or the driver drops dead of boredom....:biggrin_2559:

I have a guy with 40 years EXP.His record is spotless with many many awards..He even taught as a teacher for 5 years..He just retired from his union job running NY,PA and NJ..

This guy was also an O/O for 25 years until he landed the union job..He has a 100% perfect record..Here is what i am worried about..His last 10 years were just NY,PA and NJ linehaul runs..Will L/S make an issue out of this because it was a 3 state operation...??

I found an agent with a Goodyear account that pays 2.75-3.00 for loads going to SLC which looks good but SLC is the place where 1.50/44k freight goes to wait for the megas. Im just not into that weight with the climbs. The real kick in the ### is I park my truck in front of the tire warehouse when Im home. Im cold calling off lane match but its just sucky trying to get out of that UT/ID territory.

Yeah nothing ever lasts in this business, make it while it's there is my motto. With everyone telling different stories about the contract... ...hardly anyone ever truthful or forthcoming about anything, makes one hesitant sure enough.

I talked with agent today and she put me on it 100% dedicated. She warned me that it could be 1,2,3 years. We have had it now for 3 months and running. We got it from another outfit that screwed it all up.I won't mention any names(Conway)...:biggrin_2559:..Needless to say i will ride it out and i hope i can get a year out of this..

This has been a God Sent.I have 4 days off to visit my Dr's and get my truck to the shop every week for work..Not to mention i can spend time with my loved ones and work on my health.I lost 12 LBS so far and counting...:biggrin_25514:
