Pay? Depends on the company, but many realize you're going in broke. USX gives you a 50 dollar advance after orientation, and you get your pay check deposited to your pay card the next week after orientation, with the ability to take out some small advances. Would imagine other companies would be similar, and you can ask recruiters about it.

Is it possible to work in a same trucking company with your husband/wife?

Be prepared to not have a check coming in throughout your CDL School unless they are paying you while there..highly unlikely though. Then you have a 3 day to a full week of orientation depending on the company you choose which they usually provide a bus ticket there, hotel and lunch during orientation. Then if you're lucky there will be a trainer waiting on you to get out of orientation to start your training period. Once your training is completed it's back to the yard to get your own ride. Like someone else said in one of the earlier posts Husband and Wife teams are what companies absolutely love. I imagine they may fast track you too if they are hurting for teams. Good luck to you 2 on your new driving career...keep it between the ditches and shiny side up!!:biggrin_25519:
