You don't have to tell me. At this time of the year around here moose, deer and black bear activity increases significantly before the 1st snowfall.

^Yup. A few years ago I knew a driver who would always drive down to Logan Airport from New Brunswick with a container of seafood to be loaded on the morning American Airlines flight to Los Angeles. For a few weeks I didn't see him. When I did see him, came to find out he was laid up in the hospital for 4 weeks because his International ProStar whacked into a 1100 pound moose on I-95 just south of Lewiston,Maine. The truck was totaled. His company put him in a brand new International LoneStar with a HERD bumper installed after that.;)

That was a lot of meat...did he get tired of eating moose meat? :) and do you know what type of injuries the driver sustained?

Depends on the one you get, when I got mine it had 340k on it. Ran decent and pulled decent. Never gave me any of trouble, Cummins ended up rebuilding the motor due to a manufactures defect in a sleeve at 411k

I was wondering if they made a proper metal bumper for big rigs. Just like the ones made for pickup trucks, those bumper/grill guards don't do much for protection against anything more than tree branches and brush. They just look cool. You've got to replace the front bumper with a steel one. I had a buck stop bumper on my pickup. Seems like those herd bumpers are pretty sweet.

He had a concussion,a few cuts and bruises on his face and and a couple cracked ribs. Maine DOT got the moose before he could call dibs-he said he actually would've preferred that over the hospital food! lmao
