If you've been with the company for 10 years I think you would know how they treat these things

Ya thats a preventable, not really an "accident" per se but I would expect it to be on your DAC at a minimum. How big is this company and do you like driving for them? If it's a small mom n pop kind of operation I'd offer to pay at least the insurance deductible. I think bumper and headlight assembly aren't too big a deal to replace but you never know. If they do fire you, don't sweat it too much, 10 years a lot of stuff can happen and if thats all you got on your record you are 100% hireable anywhere.

bzinger, Trucker61016 and homeskillet Thank this.

It depends. How long have you been with them, during that time have you been a good driver or just one they put up with. The insurance deductible will come into play and finally how much the accident will cost. It goes from incident to accident as soon as the pole owner becomes involved. Even if he just wants it repainted. To many factors to give you a hard and fast answer, but I am sure your company will fill all that in for you.

    Ktanner683 Thanks this.

not all companies use DAC. I never drove for a dac user in over 35 yrs OTR.

headlight needs to be fixed so co. needs to know.

crap happens to the best of us. If they get ugly then you don't need to work there, move on.

man up ASAP. you will have to make out an accident report. there is a price they attach to incidents and accidents.

with the amount of damage you say you did in another posting, that will be an accident.

you might have to go to the terminal,. watch some safety videos, get a lecture on hitting things, getting out and looking (GOAL), etc. etc.

it's a crap shoot what they will do to you, how about you tell us when it is done..??
