Hitting a car without insurance

"Almost" every state requires insurance.

 

IT WASN'T HIS FAULT!!!!!

 

Car shouldn’t of been there if it wasn’t insured, op would of just hit the curb…..

some states also allow self insure in an escrow account

 

Well, this has happened before to one of my drivers, he asked about it and he was told it is between the insurance company and the car owner.

The insurance company offered a huge amount for the uninsured parked car that was considered abandoned, a total of $1500 because the owner could not prove it even ran, it was parked on a public street outside of Oakland right on the corner where anyone would have hit it, so the insurance said “take it or leave it because you can’t afford the legal bills to take us to court” <<<< they actually said this in the letter.

that was the last I heard.

California like Michigan requires any vehicle to be insured and plated if it is on the street. Private property is a different story, but I don’t know about California - here if the car is in the drive or on the approach, it is considered the car being public accessible.

 

Some states allow broad form insurance... drivers is covered driving any car but no car is on the policy

 

AL. even makes you have auto insurance on a car you drive now?
