It was unfortunate, but I had to eat him to end the suffering of this poor, defenseless, and rather tasty creature.

Guys pulling tankers usually miss 'em w/ the tractor & decapitate 'em w/ the ladder! Then they end up splattered down the rest of the trailer, blood guts 'N fur stuck to the stainless 'N stinking...

If you hit a skunk, QUICKLY (and I can't emphasize this enough), close your windows and turn off your air conditioning in the truck. You don't need that stench getting inside the cab or worse...inside your nose.

One of our drivers had a real bad experience with hitting a moose up in northern Ontario, before he came to work for us he was running team with another driver, he was sleeping in the bunk one night and his co-driver was driving and hit one. The moose came right up into the cab of the truck and halfway into the bunk, the guy woke up and was fumbling around in the dark and all he could feel was fur and flesh of the moose, the driver was hurt pretty bad.

Moose kill more drivers than any other animal. Though many aren't hit, but the long legs like you said, the massive body will come through the windshield.

I've been told a story that a guy at my last company hit 5 deer all at once. His truck was mechanically still drivable but nobody was willing to get in and drive it because it had guts all over it and some in the cab.

I have hit several kangaroos, rabbits, and even a cow but thank god I only clipped his tail, at the time was not sure if i missed him or not but then the next day spotted a cow less its tail. (use to travell the same road every day)
