So I passed all endorsements test for doubles tripples tanker and hazmat and went and did my finger prints a week or two ago... I got a letter in the mail saying (TSA has reviewed my application to obtain HME hazmat material endorsements and i currently meet the requirements to hold an HME). So can I start applying at P&D places like Fedex freight, OD, etc or should I wait? I hate seeing these job posting on their website and not being able to apply.
Have you took the letter to you DMV yet and took the test to have the endorsement added onto your license? After it's complete and added on the apply away.
So the way i remember it explained to me was since I took all test and passed and i would get a paper temp license of tanker and double and tripple then i would get hard copy which i got earlier this week with those two endorsements. Then after the i go and get my finger prints done which I did about two weeks ago. She said it would take up to 90 days for background to be checked then i would receive my temp license with hazmat plus the other endorsements and then I would get hard copy... The lady at the finger print place knew a lot i think i have here card somewhere I can call and see if i can run up to dmv and show them that. Is that something I can do?
Yes I would think that would work. I didn’t know you had already tested. In my state (Tennessee) they would not allow me to test until I have all the background stuff done. That’s why I was confused.
Boy that’s complicated and inefficient. In Florida, I took the HME test (pass that and you move onto the application) filled the app, and gave the prints on the same day. 3-4 weeks later I got the approval letter from TSA, and my new updated license in the mail from the state - on the same day. Took the old license from my wallet, put in the new one. Easy peasy.
Yes Tennessee is so weird. I had to get the background completed. Then when I received my letter in the mail, I took that to the DMV and they allowed to to test. I then had to wait on my license to arrive in the mail as they only gave me a temporary.
