Reading books is an awesome hobby, especially if you get them from your local library. If a little more interaction socially is your style, online games like eve, lord of the rimgs, world of warcraft, everquest 2 might burn up a lot of your time and shouldn't use too much data if you install them from a wifi or home connection. If you're artistic, whittling, drawing or writing. You could even take up sewing or knitting. There are tons of things to do as hobbies, and the best part is no one cares what you do as long as you can put it down and get your proper rest when you need to.

the best way to go as far as internet on the go is verizon's mifi service.

you get 10gb of data a month for 80 dollars. and its very fast.

At the expense of criss-crossing with one of my other threads, I find it better when I'm routed near cities with a gym I'm a member of.
In addition to carrying a bicycle when I'm driving, this basically gives me a place to ride to and sort of immerse myself back with "normals" for the lack of a better term.
Aside from fulfilling physical activity and human relations quotas, I also do model rocket kits.

That's a good idea about the gym what gym do you belong to? And is your membership good anywhere?

when i get my license and find myself a job, i plan to keep my time occupied with playing the mmorpg "Guild wars 2" this should allow me to be social with others around the world, and keep in contact with real life friends that will be playing while i'm always away on the road.

I used to do RC. But full on racing. I travelled the country from Maine to Cali.

I raced electric, nitro, carpet road course and ovals, offroad...

the track I raced with even hosted the ROAR electric national championships one year!

The hour or two prior to rack time it's meal, shower, call the boss (my beautiful wife) and surf the web (via Verizon MiFi, grandfathered unlimited plan). If I don't feel like playing around on the interweb, I have tons of movies that I have downloaded or ripped at home on a 500 gig external HD and watch them on my laptop.

That's sweet I raced indoor carpet with a pancake back in the day just never that high of a level more or less fun in my area. I think I'm going to get one of those 1/5 bajas and race that around the truckstop parking lot.
