Hobby Lobby

Well let me say after working for christains my almost entire life, they are the worse ppl to work for, with the exception of my father.

I'm a child of God, confess Christ, but when someone tells me my potential employer is christian I run the other way.

Sad but true.

 

Hah, I came to the same opinion at the age of 8. I had a paper route with about 100 customers. Of that 100 about 6 were ministers. They were the worst, most horrible people to collect the paper route money from. Who would try to talk a kid out the paper route money: Christian ministers. Who would refuse to pay: Christian ministers. Who would claim to have stop the service on collection day, and then call to complain they didn't get their paper: Christian ministers. Who would send their daughter to the door and tell me their father wasn't home when I could hear him in the other room. Christian ministers. Who bounced checks every other month: Christian ministers. Who told me to come back on Monday for my money, then wasn't home: Christian Ministers. Who told me to come to collect on Saturday and then chastised me for doing so: Christian ministers. If it was one of them I would have thought it was a fluke, but is was all of them. Then, even when one moved away and another took his place it was the same thing. Did that route for 10 years and it was always the same deal with the ministers.

 

I know...Makes me ashamed of identification with Christian that why I identify child of God instead...it's sad.

 

A friend of mine and I fully agree with him said to me "Yeah my mom cleans this building for people who are always Jesus this and Jesus that and I'll tell you right now those are the worst people."

 

Yeah I thought it was like a big old school hobby shop, but I guess not oh well.

 

I really wonder how many who claim to be Christians, really are? My dad told the story of his trainer when he was trying to sell encyclopedias door to door. The trainer carried a Bible and my dad who was studying for the ministry commented about it, the trainer told him he didn't really even read it, but it was great to get into people's homes. Anytime someone wears their religion on their sleeve, I tend to wonder what they have up it. To paraphrase Eliza Doolittle, don't tell me, show me. As James said, I'll show you my faith by my works.

From what I have heard, Hobby Lobby and Chick-Fil-A, are 2 companies where the owners at least try to practice what they preach. None of us are perfect, but at least try to be faithful to what your religion teaches, whatever that religion is.

 

I agree and it's funny you mentioned that, I was chatting with a customer of mine and we were talking about the Cleveland Brown's and Johnny Manzel and he said to me "You know if I have to go around telling everyone what a great chef I am your going to wonder how good of a chef I really am vs other people saying yeah that guys really good."

Same with people who are very outwardly religious like that. I'm not perfect either I get angry and mad at things and cuss and whatever but, I guess anything that sits down on the toilet everyday (sorry to be crude) isn't going to be perfect it can't be.

 

Better to put your confidence in the Lord, then in mankind ...
It's easy for anyone to say they are Christian
Yes unfortunately some folks try to use God's glory for their own agenda, it's just something to be aware of, its been happening for hundreds of years now

 

Just because someone says that they are Christian, doesn't necessarily mean that they are Christian. You can tell most Christians by their actions.

 

What wrong with that?
I admire these qualities in a company. Keeps the trash and crap drivers out.
