No reason to worry BuckeyeKev...I am now employed with Hogan and I took a Dedicated Target Store Account. After your Training and Your upgrade to Solo Status. You should be making .42cpm and get $16 for every dock you bump and the Miles are paid the same for Loaded or Empty.
Best of luck to you and keep us all updated on your progress.
PS: don't get caught up in taking a Dollar general or any Dollar Store account....That work is for the very In-Good-Shape person. It's all hand unload by the driver. Oh, who's your recruiter? Probably Kim kettering since you're out of Ohio right?
Anyway, Best of luck to you.

    BuckeyeKev Thanks this.

I do hope you are right, Kelly Flynn is my recruiter. She contacted me via email off a post I put on their Facebook page. The rate was considerably lower (.30 with up to .07 in safety and performance bonus) and their training itinerary shows the last day being all about Dollar General (based in Central Ohio, where the class is being held). But, she also said, "Ohio regional," and "no-touch" so who knows? If I do get assigned to DG freight, I hope there to be a little more in the paycheck.

I feel a little rushed through the grinder on this, but I'm a newbie looking for as free a ride to a career as possible. I'm sure they get a lot of those, and it just wears a recruiter down. Trucks and trucking companies don't make money with empty seats. Thanks for the best wishes!

I guess that maybe because you don't already have your Class A CDL is their reasoning for a lower CPM.
I had all of my Account and Pay info sent to me " In Writing" prior to accepting an invite to orientation and a Job Offer.
Go through their schooling program to get your Class A CDL, but I would suggest that you get with your Recruiter and state that you want a regional Dedicated account that is "NO TOUCH".
After being on that account for a period of time, I'm pretty certain that Your pay will increase a good deal. You will need to hammer this all out with your recruiter before you go to Orientation. Take control of your prospective career or you will end up wherever they want to place you.
Be sure you communicate via email with them and print off all correspondence that is relayed. This will give you the upper hand in your path with them. Phone calls will not work in your favor. Cover your ### and get it all nailed down before making a commitment to them.
    Good luck.

    BuckeyeKev Thanks this.

Tigersroses1, I am going to Hogan and going to be on the Dedicated Target Store Account after my Orientation this coming week. Is it good paying as they said it is, I know its .42 a mile and stuff. They said its home every other day/night is that true? Where is there closest terminal from Wisconsin, because i forgot what she said.

No, You will not be home every other day. You will not be Home on the weekends either. Forget about that BS they told you about making $1,100 for home every other day or the Crap about $1,300 for being out 5-6 days. Brother, you are gonna be sitting almost all the time and they shut you down for 10hr breaks all the time. For instance: I was out on My last, (let me get my logs out), run to Omaha, Bellevue and Norfolk NE. A whole 801mi turn around run from the DC in Cedar Falls and back. It was a whole day and a half and I did (3) man, I MEAN (3) 10hr breaks on that run!!!
Have you ever wondered why they are recruiting so hard and offering .42cpm right out of the gates to anybody to drive for them? .42cpm sounds Great if you are knocking down 2500-2800 miles per week. Did they tell ya that they will send you out on short hauls too...? Yea, that's a bad deal there, as that could be all you get for 2 days and, they pay you a whole $75.00 for a run to a local store!! There is no "Detention pay"...but you will get a whole $16.00 for sitting after 2 hrs...Not $16per hr just $16 bucks!!
You do the math...How ya going to make what they say for being home every other day???

Also, Hogan is competing with a butt-load of refrigerated companies running out of that Cedar falls Target DC.
I am not trying to rain on your parade and I am only Home now because I had to come home for a Family emergency...But you will see for yourself what goes on with Hogan. You judge for yourself if it's what you were promised.
    Best of Luck to You.

They've been advertising heavy in the Dubuque IA craigslist too. tigersroses thanks for the honest feedback on this company. I didn't buy their ad anyway but it may stop someone new getting ground down right off the bat or someone leaving a better job for them. It sounds like you got screwed right out of the gate.

Maybe for a 34hr reset mid week. Weekends are the hottest delivery times.

It isn't just my case, I wasn't singled out for a screwing. They are loading up on recruits so as to cut down on the mileage at a rate of pay of .42cpm. They do a lot of relays of other driver loads.
