I am guessing that this is not the first time they have had a problem in getting your logs in a timely manner. The reason I say that is simple. If you were not a "repeat offender" on the log issue, they would let you sit, but wouldn't mess with your paycheck.

FWIW, I've got an acquaintance who lost a good job for just such a stupid reason. And he is very lucky that he just got in trouble with his company. He ran for MONTHS with NO LOG. Then tried to piece together where he had been to fake logs for the company.

If he had ever been pulled into a coop, he would have had major problems. But then he IS an idiot anyway. . .:biggrin_25512:

actually yes they can hold ur pay for no logs; it's considered part of ur paperwork, so if ur paperwork is not complete or all of it turned in they can do it & it's not illegal. i've fought the battle already with 2 companies & in courts. the court agreed with the companies as well as ooida. simple thing to do is do all ur paperwork pertaining to the load & turn it all in & no one will have a problem

in all my years of driving, a paycheck has never been withheld from me due to missing logs. if anything at all, i'd get a memo telling me they are missing. but a paycheck withheld..??

    never.

what are these companies doing nowadays, holding our EARNED pay hostage..???

Paycheck for an employee, settlement for an O/O---big difference! Illegal to withhold any wages from a paycheck, without written authorization. But when it comes to an O/O settlement, it all depends on the signed lease.

To get paid, you need to do more than just drive, you need to turn in ALL paperwork, which is part of truck driving.
