Have you cleaned EGR cooler, Venturi tube, and checked EGR delta P sensor and tubes for plugging?
-
High NOx is either a bad DOC, in this case the inlet and outlet NOx sensors would read similar values. Or high combustion temperatures either caused by injector issues or insufficient EGR flow.
Cleaning the EGR system is something you could do yourself for free and if you find that the venturi tube or cross over pipe are plugged. You could solve this issue.
Don't know for sure if this is your issue, but worth the effort.
Just watch some videos on YouTube, lots on there for other engines, Mack would be similar process.mhyn Thanks this. -
Another potential cause. This past winter I saw NOx rates like yours when my DEF line to the doser froze and broke off. So I wonder if the DEF doser flow is blocked, or maybe the DEF fluid filter is plugged. Some systems have other finer filters at the inlet of the doser.

I don't know what the problem is but it seems that a visual inspection should have been the first thing they did to find the hole. I don't guess you have much recourse now but I wouldnt be happy.

My biggest fear is having them fix that hole at $4700 then get 100 miles down the road only to have the same codes pop on me. Truck is paid off already so I have no problem letting it sit at the shop until I can drive for someone else and make money. If there was a way for me to sell it as is from the shop in Cheyenne wy I would get rid of it

Need to check all emission sensors for soot covering. Need to clean out all differential pressure pipes with carb n choke clearner. First
