If you've got 6 mo experience, check out Big G Express out of Shelbyville TN. They pay you for 7 holidays per year. The amount is based on your average earnings per day. They'll get you home every weekend too. It's a great outfit, my wife and I both worked there as drivers for several years. You won't find a better OTR outfit.antoinefinch Thanks this.

And they're employee-owned, which is a good deal. If you stay there for a while you can end up with a real nice chunk of change from free stock.

Various co's, various pay........some used to pay a token $50, maybe $75. Some required you to be under a load to get it. You couldn't be sitting. Some devided up your previous 3 months miles then took the LEAST mileage count and paid you that amount. All of it was taxed also.

You learn something new everyday. I'm in the UK and get 24 days a year holiday pay and triple time or an extra 2 days off on bank holidays (public holidays)

Are you referring to vacation days as well? I know in the UK what we in the US call "vacation", you call "holiday".
Those of us at decent companies get both "vacation" and "holiday" pay. -
Ah I see. I get 24 vacation days and about 6 or 7 public holidays like Xmas day Easter etc. We can work the holiday ones if we want.
-
Very nice. Here, better companies start off with around 10 vacation days and add more weeks at various seniority milestones. It is rare these days for anyone to get more than 4 weeks after working someplace forever. Union companies being the exception.
