They aren't that generous with their pay. At .56, 150k mi would come out to only $84,000. Keep it real.Goody3635, BeHereNow97 and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.

That’s live in the truck miles I think.Knucklehead Thanks this.

Perhaps those guys made up the difference in accessory pay?fcfightermma Thanks this.

I see he mentions OTR and the miles he lists reflect that, but I also see "line haul" in the subject line...usually an LTL thing.
Do they do both?fcfightermma Thanks this. -
Linehaul refers to the long-distance transportation of consolidated freight, like goods & parcels, between 2 fixed points on a fixed route. This Is a vital part of the supply chain, serving as the backbone that moves goods from distribution centers to other facilities or ports, enabling efficient timely delivery to the end consumer.
Holland Enterprises definitely falls under the Linehaul category as a high percentage of their freight is Dedicated to the same Customers and same lanes over & overdave01282000 Thanks this. -
When people talk about LTL, I notice it seems to fall into P&D vs Linehaul.
I didn't realize it can apply to OTR as well...learn something new every day.JohnBoy and fcfightermma Thank this. -
I did it in the early 90’s. Picked up a loaded trailer and had 8-10 drops across the country. Was one of my best gigs in trucking. My last job before the gig I have now was the same thing. Loaded a trailer at our loading dock in Richmond, then would run across the country with 6-10 drops and 4,000 miles.Knucklehead, dave01282000 and fcfightermma Thank this.

LOL Good one.

No idea where this 100k number is coming from. If I understand their bonus structure correctly, you get one cent for safety, one cent for 33k miles in a quarter, 2 cents for 36k, and 3 cents for 38k. Let's say you got 38k every single quarter and got 152k miles for the year. You'd have to make 62cpm plus that 4 cents bonus every quarter to hit roughly 100k. Nobody has posted making anywhere near 62cpm at Holland and a little birdie told me the recruiter is telling potential new hires they'll make between 50-55cpm, so realistically less than 90k is best case scenario.Last edited: Sep 28, 2025
