They'll get you in a truck after training, give you a load thru the house.
Expect 3 days then back out on the road. -
Normally your dispatcher will route you home after training but you have to tell him first,he's not a mind reader. Most companies give you a day home for every week out or a day and a half.

I just started with my trainer, I'm home sick also.

Yeah. Being home sick sucks. Just stick with it. The home sick will fade with time. Work hard, keep your nose clean and over time better opportunities will open up for you.

doesn't seem to matter who the person is or his/her background or family situation. we all have gotten home sick our first time on the road, after we got hired.
it is tough, you will survive. you need to do your job and make the miles count. you need to focus on the job and be safe. in due time, you may adjust to life on the road. but if you don't, at least gain your experience, so you can get a job closer to home.
good luck, hang in there.Hegemeister Thanks this. -
I got home sick my first time out too. Luckily I have always found jobs that are dedicated and get me home at least 2 days in a row per week even my first job. They are team driving jobs but I don't mind as long as I get home every week. I really don't mind being gone anymore. Right now I'm just doing over night runs (home every other day). Now I miss OTR. When I'm OTR I miss being home every night or every other night. I just can't make up my mind. I do know that when I'm out longer than a week I get stir crazy. I'm thinking it's because I'm in teams. If I were solo, I could probably do 3 weeks tops.
