You have to be careful these days with states legalizing pot, had a beer over at a friends house, it tasted like dog pee and asked what kind it was, infused with pot.

I've worried about the same thing. My son works for Lagunitas brewery and they make a pot infused beer. I've told him that I don't want that crap anywhere near my home. Accidents happen.

10 years ago, we used to get stuck at a terminal or at a truck stop for the weekend. One truck would bobtail to the grocery store. We would load up into the bobtail, go to the store and buy food and beer by the case. All day Saturday, we grill food and drink beer. Party row at the truck stop. Everyone everywhere would do this. Chip in a few bucks and party like a king.

One day, I got called in for a “random” alcohol test. I drank on Saturday but Monday, they want to check for alcohol. The next Monday. And the next. And the next. I quit going to places where people know me and the randoms quit. Now, everyone sits in their trucks all day long, don’t speak to each other, and worried about the next person ratting them out.

Let me say this to you, because you don’t seem to get this concept:

    Keep your business YOUR business.

If your dm asks you what you’re doing, ask him what he needs. Only discuss the business with him. Your personal stuff, stay quiet on. If you meet a cool driver that works for the same company that you do, tell him, “Do not tell anyone that you know me.” No one in that office needs to know anything about your personal life.

“But Six, my travel agent and I are friends.”

Really? Well then, heed the warnings about the dangers of being in business with friends and family.

    Luck in battle.

You know where you stand on the dispatchers list when they start playing games like that, not worth your time and worries with all the companies always looking for drivers.

Yeah, you need to communicate with them "dispatch/employer" what the situation is when it changes. I don't think they knew what was going on with the truck, only the last thing they hear about. I doubt they would have called you on Tue if they knew the truck wouldn't be ready till Wed. They are just finding this out _after_ they call you... maybe they planned a load.

A lot of day cab drivers will say they just had a beer or two if they get called on their day off and asked if they can fill in at the last minute.
Even if they don’t drink... it makes them look good because they would but they shouldn’t and it ends any kind of badgering by the dispatch.

It seems that in the wonderful world of trucking your time is only your time when the company says it is. Something for all you trucker wannabe's to remember.

I do believe the guidance says you must be at 0.04 bac, 4 hours before driving. I can drink 30 beers and stop at 6 hours before driving, I WONT be good.
