Alright so the company I’ll be working for gives me 1 day off for every week. I’ll be driving 2 weeks then have 2 days off which is pretty universal from what I’m seeing and hearing. My question is, doesn’t that mean that that week where you only drive 5 days because of those 2 days off, you will have a much smaller paycheck? I’m just not used to that kind of set up as compared to an hourly job where every week you’re lookinng at the same amount each paycheck where you get 2 days off every week.

Also, when you drive for only 5 days that one week after using up your home time, does that constitute a “full” week where you get 1 day of home time for? Or do you have to drive for 7 days after the hometime?

Hometime usually restarts the clock meaning you have to work for 7 days before you accrue another day off.

Yes, your paycheck will be light on your hometime week. Only way to soften that blow is to stay out longer than 2 weeks.

Longer than 2 weeks means even more hometime no? So 4 weeks out is 4 days hometime...unless you’re saying to only take 2 days off after those 4

Even if you take 4 days off after 4 weeks, staying out 4 weeks potentially means better paying longer runs.

I once stayed out 6 months got a whole month off. (With something in the bank to boot.)

Nothing particular on the amount of days worked versus time off, it's just worked out that way once or twice. Particularly if your rig did well in revenue and payroll.

Home time costs you money. You can never make that back. So choose wisely.
