Or your with the wrong company. I got home quite a few times during my training, was also allowed to take up to a week off between school and going out with trainer. Never have problem with getting home when I want. Got home for Thanksgiving,Christmas,My Birthday, My wife's birthday, and my daughter's birthday. Got routed out of route by 250 miles to get me home when I had a family issue, no waiting for another driver or dlv and go home. Just sucking it up and driving is why companies pay .25c a mile and don't get drivers home when they want/need

Your experience is what is called anecdotal and therefore not necessatily typical....good for you!
    It's all about expectations.

Dude - they ALL say no problemo until yer gone for weeks at a time.
Trust me on this, it's OK in only the most exceptional cases.
Know it going in. Driving hard to keep from going to jail for arrears in child support payments is not where you want to be.

I must say, a company is taking you in WITHOUT any prior experience beside truck driving school and giving you $400/week to TRAIN. You must be a Democrat...hehe

Honestly, what a downer and depressing cohort group here. you're all sick minded and myopic. it's sick and sad. Is your existence that twisted and pathetic that you have to bring down and lower other human beings down to the same trash bag level of feeling you exude. I'm getting into this business, going over the road and sincerely hope to reach a new level of personal and soulful enrichment within myself and then get the f^#( out and go local. I'll be sure not to darken any roadside stop with the likes of your sick mindedness. Seriously, get over yourselves.

You may as well prepare yourself now. You are going to miss holidays, birthdays, funerals etc..

I think maybe this career isn't for you. Doesn't mix well with guys who have spouses and especially young kids. Maybe do something else for awhile till your kids are grown up. Nothing is worth missing your kids growing up or not being there for them.

I'm not with Prime but with one of the many other so called training company's out there,I went into this knowing in could be as long as 2-3 months before I saw home again once I left the house. This Sat. the 22nd will be exactly 2 mths and I haven't seen home yet but some others I know got home for a little bit its not all the same with everyone just a crap-shot whether your one of the lucky ones or not.
