Hi to all the hard working drivers out there! :biggrin_25514:

I have been looking through all the old threads and haven't been able to find an answer to a problem my hubby is having. I'm sorry if I overlooked it, but there's a LOT of posts on this forum :biggrin_2554: and I've been on here the better part of the day looking for answers to questions my hubby and I have. Although I did find a lot of very useful info , Thank you!

Anyway, our problem is that hubby started with a company on 4/6/2011, did his orientation, was told that after he finished 140 hours of his 275 driving (training) hours , he would be allowed home for a week pto, but they have been putting him off with excuse after excuse for almost 2 weeks now. The latest excuse was that if he got dropped off at a terminal to come home that his trainer wouldn't have another trainee so he couldn't take his pto ! The one before that was that a load got cancelled, before that no load and when they got a load it was in the opposite direction of home, etc.

Now, we didn't go into this blind! We knew that he would be gone for at least a month and was prepared for that. He had enough of everything he needed for entire month but now is out of his medication, of which he had a month and a half worth. Everyone knows it's not good to quit meds cold turkey like this ...

What, if anything :biggrin_2557: can we do to get them to route him back home?
If it wasn't for the medication part, I would deal with him being gone for so long, I'm a big girl and expected this to happen with this type of job, but I don't think it's right for them to yank him around like this and this is definitely not the type of company he wants to work for. Lying stinking rats! (I know I said I was a big girl but I had to get it out)

Thanks for any advice you have ....

If you don't mind mentioning the company, someone that works for them may be able to offer the best advise for the particular company...Procedures or just knowing the right person to contact could make the difference...

If he NEEDS medicines badly, overnight them to him if possible...

    It's Werner..

I never know where he's going to be to mail anything, yesterday he was in OH , today he's in CA .

We don't know how bad being without it is going to be because he hasn't had to go without it before, he could be alright, but on the other hand, he may end up puking all over the trainer's truck

Meds can be called in to any walmart.

    Diesel Dave Thanks this.

That may give the trainer incentive to ensure a trip home! :biggrin_2559:

I'm sure someone with Werner will let you know the best route to take, pun intended.....

he needs to tell them he NEEDS his meds as he ran out of them...

then when home, he should get a 90 day supply, because in the future, he will never know for sure his time off...

they (the company) must already know he is on meds, especially if he told them up front. even his trainer SHOULD know this in case your husband has some sort of reactions to NOT having his meds..

No, he gets his meds through the DR's office due to the prescription plan he on. He was out of work for over a year before this job and had to go on an assistance plan for them. Or I would have called them in already.

Yes, he told them upfront about them. He'll have to wait until tomorrow to tell his SDM about it. Up until 3 days ago he wasn't aware he was almost out (just like a man)I happened to think about it and ask because I picked up his 90 day supply from the dr's office when they called to let him know they were in a few days ago

I agree 100%. I went on vacation and forgot my med's as well. I went to a local supermarket with a Pharmacy in it and told them my situation. They called my Doctor and sent them the prescription. So it can be done, or should I say, Tell him to get it done
