so what your saying is you can take no more than 4 days of at anyone time no matter how many days you have accumulated including vacation ?

If so I hope all companies are not like this ...

Most companies are like this. Remember that it is controlled by your FM, and the FM usually does not count the day you arrive or the day you depart, so you do get some leeway.

ok ... But why? whats the difference whether I take 2 days after 2 weeks or 8 days after 8 weeks or 12 days after 12 weeks ?

I'm just trying to figure out the reasoning to this logic .. Thanks ..

ok ...So I guess what your saying is everyone has to take HT every 2 weeks or you lose that HT off.. ?
We like to take off each yr for about a week and fly down from Dallas to Playa del Carmen each yr.. From what I'm reading that ain't gonna be happening.
I can tell I'm not going to care for this rule...;)

It has to do with equipment utilization rates. BTW, you can take your paid vacation in one chunk.

Because some idiot will want to take a year off after driving for 7 years.

Seriously, though, it's probably for asset allocation (scheduling) reasons. It's a lot easier to schedule around short breaks than longer ones.

Ok--- but to me the math doesnt add up for that logic.. I'll try to explain my theroy.. if they dont count the day you arrive or the day you leave that would be equal to about 3 days off every 2 weeks right ?? do that 6x and you have been out of the truck 18 days ... Now if We stay on the road for 12 weeks and wanted to take 12 days plus the arrive and leave time we would only be out of the truck 13 days ... seems I just save them about 5 days of us being out of the truck in the same amount of time so in theroy I would be utiizing the equiptment more that way not less .. Where am I going wrong here ??

Thanks for taking the time to explain this I appreciate it ..

It's summed up like this. Can you take that accumulated time off? More than likely. But... They will want the truck at the terminal of their choice and you are responsible for getting home (or wherever) and back to another terminal of their choice to reseat a different truck. They do not want their equipment sitting longer then X amount of time.

Well after talking to a company that has a no pet rule, I have come to find out H&W Teams have a different set of rules than Solo's, maybe this will be another one of those rules. ;)

Our home will be in the Truck... :)
HT will be whenever we're not driving... :)

We don't need HT we need Vacation time ... lol ---and that isn't 3 days ... 7-9 days maybe

Somebody's math is crap. It's not really 4 days off every three weeks. Is more like you can take 4 days off with 21 days in between(and only if you have the extra day on the books 21/7=3 days).

you don't like the policy, then you lease a truck.

1 day for 7 days out. 21 days out is the earliest you can take off between home times

21 days is 3 days. You want 4 you stay out 28.

extra days are accumulated. Example 49 days out is 7 days off, however you can only take 4 max. Exceptions can be made, but its entirely up to your FM. Mine will make deals, he doesn't have to, and some FM don't.

So if you have 7 you use 4. 21 days later you now have 6, use 4. 21 days later you have 5. etc.

you can accumulate and use whatever days you got, just know that beyond 4-5 your FM can require you to turn in your truck (& clean out your stuff) to do so.

last couple years they give a free 7 days off in January if you stay out the 31 days of Dec.

vacation miles are accumulated at upgrade. Training miles don't count as a student/trainee, and if you are a trainer the training (team) miles count as half.

I'm over 5 years so I get 2 weeks paid per year, plus the new Jan deal makes an extra non paid week.

    silenteagle and 123456 Thank this.
