Believe it or not, Chompi, there are those of us who have figured out how to make money, and still enjoy our hometime on a regular basis. You want to stay out for months at a time, fine. Good for you, even. Me, I enjoy getting out of the truck in my own home, and enjoying my weekends. Don't like it? I really don't care....

 

Apply at any and all local outfits and often. You never know who's hiring.

LTL/P&D work aint easy though. There's no sitting back taking a nap while some lumper unloads you. Your the guy unloading. Being home by 4-5pm would be nice but that's usually reserved for the guys with seniority and they might start thier day at 4-5am. Lots of work but you'll get that hometime.

 

Yea, make sure that local work pays overtime and you actually get to take a break. Just because it's local it doesn't mean you will have any home life. LOL

 

Massage away buddy! Your going to need all the practice you can get! Lot lizards are going to be the closest thing to trucking that you will be able to handle! Don't worry, you'll be home every night or morning depending how long your massages are. So what are going to charge?

It is easier after you get some experience under your belt. I work 3-4 days a week and make a decent living. But, you have to pay your dues
