hood mount crack?

My friend was doing some bodywork on his old gen hood at chinese guys in Greenpoint/Brooklyn by kosciuszko bridge ,
didnt ask how much but he said they were cheap and good.. cheap for sure but cant promise you the "good" part

on top of that they are open 7 days a week and do mech work as well

I had problems with the telescopic rod holding the hood,; first I oayd 400$ for fiberglass job,lasted for few months only, and after was done with a metal plate and pop rivets; best solution;
Shame on Volvo for this poor hood assembly, old problem,same with my last 2001 volvo 770 truck;
