I hear ya, and freely admit my ignorance on the subject. Like I said, that's why I'm asking. Is it doable? Some people seem to think so, but I'll admit Rollin coal, I think I agree with you.
Hopeful new driver.... almost.

The people who are advising you that it's "possible" or doable or even worth considering...are they doing exactly what they are suggesting you do? Lots of people give advice. Not always worth listening to.
mje, Cetane+ and rollin coal Thank this. -
Many drivers gain experience, then when the last child leaves high school, the wife joins the husband on the road. Companies that do allow riders usually only allow one and usually have a minimum age of maybe 10 or 14 or something like that.

I have seen PRIME drivers with kids in truck with them, ck. with them, and find training info. at the web site not sure how many are allowed at one time?

RESPECTFULLY, thess are my personal suggestions.
1) Wait until all 3 of your boys have fully grown up, turned 21, and have finished up with all their education and schooling.
2) Continue being a land surveyor which will help you to build up the absolute best work history possible.
3) Be sure to keep and maintain a CLEAN driving record.
4) Get as healthy and physically fit as possible to be able to meet both D.O.T. and private trucking company health and fitness standards.
5) Continue to live cleanly and stay out of trouble with the law.
6) When such time comes, get several years as a company driver under your belt before taking on any enterprises on your own.
Good luck to you!
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!Last edited: Jan 11, 2014
