Yes Yes, nothing worse then corn chaff. That crap goes everywhere..... ears, eyes, hair, somehow down you shirt and pants. :biggrin_25510: Its much nicer getting it outta the bins with a vac though, less dust!

A vac in a farm bin???? I am jealous now. We've got 40 individual bins none of which are tied together and we pull out the pull augur on the bottom and up a loading augur to the trailer. The only times I've seen a vac around here was cleaning up after accidents and I heard they pull out of pods with em. This truck with the 2/55 air is hot. As my uncle used to say "I'm sweatin some of dat bile outta my system".

I have a farmer friend who is allergic to corn chaff. He has a heck of a time during corn harvest.

Forty bins that's a lot of bins, must be big farm. Too bad about A/C or lack of it. Builds character as they say up here. I myself would rather have A/C.

Wheathauler it's 5800 acres. Usually bout 3600-3800 rice. The bins are also scattered among 6 different places.

We farm around 3500 acres in southern iowa. Most of our bins are at the home place but there are a few spread out. Ill tell ya its so much easier with a grain vac! We even got went as to putting a tub in the side of the bins so you can suck straight outta that until it gets low enough to get in. I hate sweep augers.... even been shocked a couple times by the dumb things. nothin like 220 volts blazin through ya!!

5mouths, I'm about 100 miles north of where you picked up your new trailer.

Cowdoc, have you hauled any oat hulls? OMG is that stuff awful. Its like you rolled in fiberglass insulation. Hubbys loads always deliver here, so he can shower right away afterword, thank god. I've helped him unload those, its not fun. We actually bought the cuffed white paint suites for those loads. They at least keep the crap from going down your neck.

Hubby's got pot ash on now, and its freaking raining. I hope this stuff doesn't stick as bad as the hot M&B did on tuesday, or he's going to be pissed. Vibrator doesn't work when its wet and stuck.

Would think he would be alright with pot ash unless he's loading it in the rain. Nothing good comes from loading anything in the rain.

Ain't that the truth, but its super humid here, and where he loaded. So we shall see. He doesn't deliver till tomorrow morning, so hes coming buy the house tonight. It will sit all night on the trailer. It hasn't stopped raining here since yesterday morning. :biggrin_2556:

I'll probably go with him to unload that one, because he's got a reload coming right back.
