These farmers have better equipment than the seed companies I haul for. They have decent sized augers but would still take 30 minutes or so. I hauled for one farmer that had legs, a very nice scale and some huge bins. He was big into corn but this year has a lot of beans. RW they growing a lot of beans up there? Actually are they growing more beans everywhere this year.?

Our farm is about a 50/50 corn/beans rotation every year. There's probably more corn than beans around here, some folks do some continuous corn or 2 years corn, 1 year beans, but 50/50 is pretty common. The way the spring was so wet and late, probably some acres planned for corn got put to beans.
I would much rather haul corn, redeye is annoying but not as bad as dirty, dusty beans. And if beans get even a slight amount of moisture, they can chunk up and plug a gravity unloading spout, or get a bunch of pods bridging over a bin auger. Not to mention you don't have to have as big a pile of corn in the trailer as beans.wheathauler Thanks this. -
Mrs bullhaulerswife I hauled whole oats years ago but never oat hulls. I wish the bosses would get 1 of them vacuums. I think I could handle the noise. Most of our bins have power sweeps but a few of the old small ones we still carry augurs in and out of and push them around. I'm lucky cuz I'm most always outside loading the truck. Do yaw'll use them vacuums goin into the bins or just comin out?? We use driveovers and beltaugurs to fill em. Takes bout 30-45 minutes to empty a hopper. My fuel filter seems to have solved my problem. The old 290 ran good today.

Rice bridges bad over the bin doors. We end up rodding them or trying to. Not fun. And hybrid rice dust and fines are really bad.

Put one of those teflon rings on my trailer the other day. Get tired of greasing the fifth wheel all the time. They work fairly well if you have same trailer. Used to use them all the time, my old fifth wheel grabbed the ring and tore it off most of the time... So far new fifth wheel plate hasn't yet.

Oh I love the east coast so. Finally got here and somebody forgot to mention the place is appointment only and there's no appointment. Anybody want some steel beams?
-
That's too bad. Makes you wonder why you weren't told appointment only. Somebody dropped the ball and you pay for it.

Rained out early today. Made 4 loads. On the last 1 I blew a tire, truck died dead as a hammer goin down 3 lane thru town nowhere to get off so got stopped in the middle turn lane. Pulled into shop luckily close by 4wheeler. Found fuse that had fallen out. Also noticed at tire shop I had a spring hanger going. Everything fixed but the spring hanger which we'll get Monday after I dump the load. Gotta love this job. It's always fun.
