What brand are you running. ive never really looked into them but im thinking that would be the best choice for wet gluten. I saw a pic of one that looked to have an aluminum floor? It was shiney as hell atleast!

Where you hauling to and from???? Only a couple of places have unloading pits.....anywhere else if you're running your hopper and you'll have to deal with a "doodler"
Been doing the same thing, but with a pneumatic for about 18 months now.....
Our thing is to the wells though. -
Big John pulls a dump.

I hauled 2 loads of lime in one of our hoppers last summer, perfectly dry day, and it wouldn't come out of the trailer worth a darn. Took at least 30 minutes to get it out. I thought it would work better than that, but it sure didn't. From now on, using our little 28' dump for that stuff. -
The probe operator doesn't even have to be psychotic. Cargill in Salina had a probe that had basically a point on the end. It didn't have the plastic cap...Made little dents in my Jet trailer. The Jet has a shallow bottom anyway so it was that much worse. Like my Timpte better that's for sure.
Had my share of bows bent also. $40 a bow gets expensive. If you can catch them bending it they will eventually pay you for it. The trick is to catch them...most people don't watch the probe that much.Last edited: Sep 7, 2009

I've been lucky to not get any bows bent, but I have had them hit the straps that support the tarp and break them, or go all the way under a strap and come back up and snap them. I hate when they are probing and you're sitting in the truck and you can feel them hit the bottom. "There's another dent!"

I used to haul calcium in a hopper and that stuff would almost be like cement by the time you got to your destination and then it would take for ever and some work to get it out. There were times I would have to get in the trailer and help it along, when it was all said and done I looked like Casper the ghost. I use to haul it out of Cleburne, TX and Roland, OK and take it to Guymon, OK or Oklahoma City. I don't care to ever haul it again.
