yeah and then getting some people to pay you for the freight is even harder its not my fault if your corn didnt pass

I've run into the problem with bugs in corn if its a friday or it is slow I'll just fumigate on the truck and their bin as well to try and solve it for later and I have no choice but to charge for hauling it back

I have had to charge people rent on the trailer when I could have been going and a load ties me up they dont like that either but you really have no choice

usually they like this option as opposed to delivery at a lower price elsewhere

Kansas State Fair starts here tomorrow. Will have to put up with the out of town knuckleheads. Usually harvesting during fair, may just go to it this year.

On the trucking side getting some different quotes on insurance. Haven't checked on rates in long time. Who knows might find insurance that is cheaper.

Might as well go enjoy the fair if you don't have anything else going on.

Heard from the radiator shop today, he finally got around to testing the air to air and said the thing was leaking from almost every tube so he couldn't fix it. He's got a new one on the way, will be here Monday, freight and everything is just shy of $900- ouch. :biggrin_25524: Maybe that's best anyway, at least this way we'll know its good. Can't wait to see what kind of improvement in MPG there is if it was leaking that bad, surely something.

I think I will go to fair. Normally I'm very busy might as well take in the sights. Will probably have some seed wheat moving but nothing real bad.

If the air to air was that bad should make a big difference. At least for $900 it should do something. You can at least look at the shiny new tubes.

Checking out truck insurance for different rates. What gets me is your credit report is used to determine your insurance rate too. Guess it's the same way with cars but seems stupid to me. Just another way they can jack the rates up on you.

They do that here for home owners, good people good risk, and have a hard time getting insurance.

The last year I had my insurance agency they just released the computer modeling to predict hurricanes and wind storms. Canceled about 1000 policies on me because the computer said there was going to be a storm. Still hasn't happened there after 12 years. With the losses in the southern states and western fires, they will do anything legal to raise rates to recover their reserves.

I had the truck agent ask me how long I have had my authority. I was wondering if you have to had your authority for awhile or they wouldn't insure you. Heard some brokers were asking about that but didn't know insurance people were. I haven't gotten quotes in long time but thought that was unusual.

What are you paying now? I use PJC out of Springfield, MO which is an agent for Northland and they insure a lot of bulk haulers. I got a a quote of $3400 a year and that was for the following for a 300 mile radius.

    1 Million Liabilty
    $25,000 Cargo
$80,000 Physical Damage on my 07' Pete
    $30,000 Phyiscal Damage on trailer
