Yes, Dumps can haul similar or the same loads as hoppers. Many of the hopper guys have a dump too.

Someone came asking to borrow some of my ties so I came out to see what was going on.

This has been a public service announcement from the Don't Drop Your Hopper on Dirt Because You Can't Borrow My Ties to Prop it Up Foundation.

My tarp on my new trailer wont roll straight across the trailer it drops and rolls back over the latch plate perfectly even and hits the stops evenly but doesnt roll straight on the pipe

it is centered one the end caps on the roll stop side but about comes off the back of the trailer on the latch plate side and barely touches the end cap on the front on the latch plate side

it seems like the ends aren't cut straight the sides are even but its like the ends are about 4 inches out of square

anyone ever have this issue? probably have to deal with shur co rather than timpte i'm guessing

That's correct with a 32 foot trailer your internal bridge would only be about 60,000 or 30,000 per tandems. A 39 foot dump trailer has a internal bridge of +/- 35 feet which is "grandfathered" in to allow 68,000 internal bridge weight thus, allowing you to gross 80,000lbs. (12,000+34,000+34,000)

I didn't think you were mad. I didn't know whether anyone would notice.

If it is a fairly new trailer I would take it to Timpte. They might be able to figure it out. They should talk to Shur co about it. My tarp doesn't roll up straight all the time either.

That was a mess. Hopefully he didn't think ties would pull it up. That was soft dirt or a really heavy trailer.

Parking lot gravel down in the corner. I guess he was thinking of propping up the corners with a big stack of ties, that's the hard way. He ended up just lifting it up, filling in the holes, and setting some smaller blocks under the gear.

That was a pretty slick little tow truck. I didn't even notice the drop axle underneath until I looked at the pictures.

I'd call Timpte and talk to them, even though its a shurco product, Timpte would've installed it. It shouldn't be run that way for a long time, if its not going over the front end cap much, its probably getting air under it when you go down the road. If its a new trailer with warranty, by all means, make sure they fix it right.

Looks like a hopper that sunk, could be dump. Must be dump... hoppers would never haul heavy, right!! well maybe not. That is a nice looking tow truck.
