Still just hauling seed wheat screenings. There are a lot of trucks at this seed business. Everybody is getting ready to or has started planting wheat.

Talked to guy at elevator he said they were still pretty full of wheat. Makes you wonder if storage might become a problem. The fall crops have to sell on the scale or have a contract, no open storage.

No, not ready yet, been hauling out of the elevator the last week or so, they changed their mind and decided to clean the place out of corn. They are caught up now, so I can finish getting ready, got a couple loads of rock to get tomorrow, then fix a couple tires, shine up one truck and one trailer, run to Ohio next week for a load of posts, and oh, whatever else comes up between now and then. We've got one field of beans that will probably cut next week, but that's it. I don't think many will be in the field until the first full week of Oct, and at least the week following before everyone is running. Or later. Good thing the price of propane has gone down, going to be a lot of dryers get a workout this fall around here.

Within 15 mile radius of Hutch don't have farmers with that many bins. Further out the bigger farmers have some bins. Being close to terminal elevator with better prices doesn't make them want to buy bins. However the farmers don't like the sell the grain or contract it right away, that the elevators want for this fall harvest.

No, it wouldn't make a lot of sense to build bins if a farmer is that close to probably the most grain storage in one place in the world. In 2005, Hurricane Katrina caused a lot of heartburn in our area when we couldn't get barges back from New Orleans. Even with just an average corn crop that year, there was corn piled everywhere. The following year, Cargill built about a 2 million bushel flat storage facility at Beardstown, and I think about the same at Havana. There's a new train loading facility 30 miles north of us, just opened last month, 4 million bushel corn capacity, should be able to load a 110 car train in 10-15 hours. Not very long ago, we were very dependent on being able to constantly load barges at the river terminals, now its not quite as critical as before.

All this rain has got these rice fields really rank. We got 1 9760 stuck and then stuck the 9770 trying to pull it out. We went and got a 9420 to get em out. The 9770 made less than 1 round and was stuck again. We cut 1 35 acre field and it took from 1 til 7:30. This late it's hard to get drying weather. We may be mudding alot out. Hauled rocks this morning. Still having good luck with that ole truck. Everybody on here talkin about Super 10's being junk kind of worried me. That's one of the old Spicer Super 10's tho. I thought the new Fuller's were sposed to be better but I've never had 1.

picked up my step deck today and I have to admit I looked like an idiot trying to back a spread axle for the first time it is an entirely new experience I dont think we'll move any hay until after harvest though

I found a place online that has all kinedyne products dirt cheap and shipping is only 9.95 tarps and straps . com you can figure it out

we will start on corn next week if we get some drying weather if I can get it under 20 I can dry it entirly on air and that good because I dont have any burners but I learned last year you actually get a volume discount on electricity lol

Get an electric dump valve hooked up to the rear axle, then when you're backing, you can dump it so the trailer pivots on the front axle, turning shorter.

Same old thing, wheat screenings to Hutch. However was told today Cargill will not be taking any more wheat in after tomorrow. Al least not until after harvest. I'm sensing we may have some storage issues. I've been hearing that terminal elevators have had a hard time getting rid of their wheat.
