Went through there on Tuesday of last week. We loaded in Proctor and headed to Smithton, MO with that load of rice. Lots of rice fields on that road. Most of the time, we're on 67 and head over to Russelville for a load going back north. So it was a nice change of scenery. :biggrin_255:

But 65 between Branson and Conway is absolutely beautiful. I wouldn't mind having a small cabin down there somewhere to vacation in. LOL :biggrin_25525:

Big John the bosses have got 2 9760 JD's and 1 9770 JD. All have Mudhogs. They'll hold around 300 bu rice full. They've been getting stuck quite a bit this year. Yesterday they were in 1 field that was fresh cut this year and the drops were real soft. 1 of em got stuck but he augured off his load to 1 of the buggies and backed out. Course then the buggy got stuck trying to get out with the load. We're having to buggy out alot of this rice to the driveovers cuz we can't get the trucks to the loading pads. Staying at the driveover all day loading bins makes for a long boring day. I'd much rather be hauling.

Had some showers last night. May cut today not sure. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I thought about hauling other loads but if farmers need me later today that wouldn't be good. Hauling other loads I could be stuck in line for quite a while. There's getting to be a big bean line in Hutch. Smaller elevators hauling their grain to terminals in Hutch.

I don't want to even think about what the bean line is in Wichita. During bean harvest the lines there are terrible. Last year 4 to 6 hour wait wasn't unusual.

What is the hold up in line? During wheat harvest years ago their were hugh lines because trucks came in from all over to haul but rates were good and fuel was cheap and a guy could still do a grand a day but those days are long gone. You see lines but nothing like in years past and rates are cheaper then the used to be and fuel is higher. They also keep the lines moving pretty good.

In the Wichita bean dump they do about 6- 8 trucks a hour. They don't get in a big rush maybe because they're union. Wichita also has a bad habit of breaking down.

In Hutch Adm is just slow. The have one elevator for beans and will maybe use two pits at that elevator. Cargill is pretty fast compared to Adm. Couple of weeks ago Adm had two of the three elevators closed and the third only had one pit open.

Well, hauled seed wheat today. They were only using one combine today and they can use their trailer for that. Dang, had a tough time backing today not sure why. Some days are like that.

That's true compared to OTR guys we hardly ever back up. That's the grain drivers ....other hopper drivers might back up more.

Yup, all the time, just ask Pharm. :biggrin_2559: I'll have to take some pictures, so you can see the Black holes, these guys are talking about. :biggrin_2556:

Some of the places hubby backs into, I'm not sure how he does it, to be honest. Black trailer going onto those dark holes with only a few inches on each side to clear. :biggrin_25521:
